An independent production by Lone Pine Pictures, made to highlight important local history and is filmed entirely in County Durham. This documentary tells the story of Sir John Duck, a poor butcher who became Mayor and Baronet. He was nicknamed ‘Durham’s Dick Whittington.’
I was asked by Durham based Filmmakers Lone Pine Pictures if they could use my Northern Grit Project illustration of John Duck (left) as a promotional image for their coincidentally-themed, award-winning documentary The Butcher Baronet. My partner Gary Miller was asked to contribute a song he had written for his in-production Folk-Rock opera, also, totally coincidentally, entitled The Butcher Baronet (You can listen to the song below). Gary and I both appeared in the film, which was great fun - until I had to watch myself in it!
