EMILY OF STRATFORD
personal project illustration based on a Victorian post mortem portrait photograph of Emily of Stratford and her husband, German architect Carl Weber. Taken in 1850, a few short hours after Emily’s death, the photo served as a final heart-breaking memento for Carl. Emily is held in position in her chair with wires to enable the photographer to capture the moment.
